vMy 2001 Volvo V70 Cross Country (AWD) has an intermittent problem where the transmission feels like it drops into or shifts gears very hard. It happens most often when the transmission downshifts into the lower gears like when downshifting to go up a hil V70-XC70

When the CEL comes on again, stop by a dealer. They can read the specific code. Hopefully all it needs is new software download, which will still cost you $100.
