Climate a/c recirculation 850

Is it possible you merely hooked up the damper motor out of synch (closed when the switch said open or vice versa)? I had this issue after replacing evaporator. If memory serves I just disconnected the motor, changed the switch position, reconnected motor and after that the motor went either direction as it should. The motor seems to work pretty hard for a moment at either end of its travel. I'm not surprised these dampers or the control rods occasionally break.
