what is this light 400 1994

Hi, I only bought my volvo last week, and so I know ery little. Im sure this question has come up before, but I have spent hours trying to find the answer. When I start the car up, there is a light on the dashboard that looks like a lightbulb with a cross through it. The light goes off after a minute or 2. Can someone please tell me what this means. Thanks
