Help. Cannot get rear rotor off V70-XC70 1998

You had described a grating noise in a previous post. Could it be the brake cable has internal rust causing an incomplete release of the brake.

Can you pry the shoes toward the axel through the inspection holes? I thought that those cars all had star wheels, but I remember some of the 240's did not. Also try to flex the brake cable as it may brake the internal cable from the outer shell.
