Outside temperature gauge dead V70-XC70 1998

It is in the air dam on the passenger side of the car. This is the plastic protective piece that sits under the radiator. It comes loose with 2 10mm screws on each side of the car and is easy to get off even without jacking up the car. Take these 2 screws loose and you'll see that it will not completely come away from the car because the temperature sensor goes through a hole that it snaps into on it. With things in this position, you can check the connector from the sensor to the 2 wires that run to the computer. Good luck.
