poor gear change 1st to 2nd S80 2004

Has anyone else had a problem with poor gearchanges from 1st to 2nd when under moderate acceleration? From a standing start the car goes well until about 2500 revs then it feels like the engine is cut, until revs drop, then off we go again. Interestingly this does not happen on a flat out start or in manual mode.

This problem is really annoying in normal day to day driving. In my last two visits to the dealer they have applied a 'fix' by applying a software upgrade but this has not fixed the problem.

Car is a MY04 S80 T6.
