Oil pan replacement, big job? 850

Well....keep in mind im no expert. I have a 98 S70 and havent needed to do this yet. From what I understand there are two O-rings between the pan & the block, and another between the oil pickup and the block. In time they can either become brittle & deteriorate, or part of the o-ring gets sucked up into the block. Supposedly this leads to poor oil circulation to the upper part of the engine & causes the valves/lifters to be rather noisy. I was just suggesting it if he was gonna replace the pan becuase its just a matter of removing the old & installing the new rings once the pans off.
