Ok its me again with my brand new XC90 2005 with 6,400 miles on it. Some of you might know me from my challenges of not being able to keep my six disc changer from blowing up in my car. Note: I'm having my third one put in at 7500 when I'm back down in Denver next.
NOW...........I'm late for an important meeting running out my door one morning and the car wont start. "Start Prevented, Try Again" Excuse me but it seems like it should say "Start Prevented, Try Again later and Good Luck". Thankfully, I own a computer....dealership not open that early in the morning....so I Googled it and apparenlty found one ridiculous suggestion to fixing my problem by REMOVING THE GAS CAP AND PUTTING IT BACK ON and also stomping the brake pedal and gigling the shifter. As absurd as that sounds I went back down to my car sitting in the 58 degree warm garage and tried the car start again.........no luck. After a few choice words containing %$^%&% Volvo's and this $50,000 piece of crap.....I tried the absurd suggestions of gas cap, brake and gigle the gear shifter. Guess what.....it worked, it started.
That afternoon and a day of stressing if my car was going to start I got online to look into my issue even more. Apparently, it could be a problem with my antenna ring in my ignition, possible interference from other magnetic things on my key ring, having one too many Volvo keys on a key ring, to a faulty "control module" were all problems that I was told to persue. Now, I don't have a lot of confidence in my dealership. From what I have read they run diagnostics on the car and if they don't find anything they don't do anything....... My problem with this is that I still don't have confidence that my car will start or play cd's for that matter in the future. This is a $50,000 vehicle, I shouldn't have to be stressing over these issues. Does anyone out there have any advice or direction for me. Can I demand from the dealership that the antenna ring be replaced and the control module and if so what keeps them from giving me the finger and saying Good luck see ya!
Any thoughts?
