'96 850 sedan 850 1996

Hey there- I just came across a '96 850 GLT sedan for sale in the classified ads just recently (a private sale). This is a one-owner, 5-speed car, fully loaded, in really mint condition. They want $3000 for it, but the main problem with this car is that it has 172k miles on it. I've known this car since the beginning- owner is a local golf professional- but that high mileage is kind of scaring me a little, since I don't know what's been done to it, how it was maintained, etc. Any advice?
