Hi everybody,
Here is an old story; I need to replace my rotors and pads (front and back) on my 98 S70 (100,250km). I changed the brakes four years ago when we bought the pre-owned car and it has been wonderful for us.
I started looking on the web in an effort to educate myself on my options on parts and to save a few bucks. I must admit, I’ve become inundated with the vast amount of information available. My first question is, is there any real advantage to getting cross-drilled rotors? I’m in Montreal, Canada and as you my know our winters are very severe here. Is there any effect on the discs with the extreme cold temperatures? This may sound stupid, but is there any chance of snow build-up in the holes?
Finally, I know this is a loaded question, but in your opinion what is the best rotor/pad combination? (I’m still trying to digest the information in Jim Rothe’ web site!).
Looking forward to your replies, cheers.
