On my '98 V70 awd w/ 59,000 miles, I noticed (yesterday) a kind of clunking noise in the front suspension, but only at low speeds. When I turn the steerring wheel sharply left to right and back (Also, obviously, at low speeds on uncrowded streets), I can hear the same clunking, so I imagine it's something in the steering system. Has anyone experienced similar noises? Is this a do-it-yourself fix? Is it an immediate worry (Is the car safe for my wife to drive w/the kids in it?)?
Thanks, as always!
