I have a NA 850 96 that i'm going to have to dump I guess. The car has a bizarre fuel injection problem that two very experienced mechanics over a month are scratching their heads over. Neither has ever seen this problem in an 850. The car continues to dump essentually raw fuel in the engine which = 10 mpg, rough idle, very poor performance etc etc. The FPR has been replaced along with the FI computer ($$$$$) both O2 sensors, etc etc. The car runs better after the FI computer swap but continues to set codes and get VERY poor mileage The remaining option seems to be replace the entire wiring harness within the FI circuit which will probably run more than the car is worth. I can't sell the car in good conscence to anyone and trading it with a "check engine light" on and black soot all over the tailgate is going to net me basically nothing. ANother option is to dump it on Goodwill for the tax write off. My wife loves the car for which we sold a 91 740 with 200K for. Question: do I look for a nice 740 turbo wagon or look at the V70s? Did Volvo correct the AC evaporator problem on the V70? I know the 98 V70's have some problems. ANy thoughts appreciated as usual.
bl aka big looser on this one
