A rotted vacumn elbow. This one's tough to get at. When I opened the door with the engine running I heard an unusual hiss. The elbow is on the PCV resistor/nipple thing in the air intake hose just about 4" upstream of the turbo. There's a larger rubber hose coming back from under the intake manifold (oil separator?) and a small hard plastic hose in the sheath with it. The small hose plugs into a the rotted rubber elbow that fits on a nipple on the side the the device in the intake hose.

Only one casualty. The hard plastic hose snapped off about 2" back from the elbow and there's no way I'm taking the intake manifold off to replace it. I'll use a straight section of rubber vacumn hose to splice the two pieces together and put the new elbow in place.

Cheers,
