Heater blower whine in cold weather 850 1996

I have a 96 855T 66K, in cold weather the heater blower(auto climate) whines on and off as I accelerate or apply the brakes(vacuum leak?). I never get this noise in the summer. I don't want to replace the blower as it works fine after the winter months. Any suggestions??
