new rear brakes+rotors-still shuddering! 850

After having the inconsistent rear brake shudder on our 97 855 t5, I decided to change the rear brakes using OEM pads and rotors. I had the metal L-shaped "cut-out" shims in place so I re-used them. Also used plenty of silicone grease on the pad backing, shims, and piston. Lugs were torqued to 81 ft/lbs.

After breaking them in and braking "gliding to a stop" very carefully, the whole car vibration shudder returns once in a while-very inconsistent. It seems like the brakes have to get heated up before it wants to shudder.

So, I have less than 100 miles on the new brakes. The only thing I can think of doing is cleaning up the corrosion on the hub that the rotor mounts to and making sure the inside of the alloy wheel that contacts the rotor is nice and clean. I did not clean them before mounting and have read that that may help. A mechanic at Volvo said to try removing the shims-that sometimes helps.

Should I drive it a few more hundred miles before ripping it apart again? Could the pads still be breaking in? Any help is appreciated. THANKS!!!
