Slight ping or knock during accel under load

Hi,
I have a 96 850 auto with 120k. Just recently I started hearing a slight pinging or knocking from the engine at slow speeds during acceleration under load. It doesn't sound like the typical "loose valves" octane knock I have heard in other cars. I sounds more solid, but nowhere near as loud as octane knock. Anyone know what this may be?
