V70 Audi diesel engine issues V70-XC70

This probably applies to European owners only. I am considering a diesel V70 with the Audi 2.5 engine (97 - 99). The main dealer told me there can be water pump problems with this engine ie it can seize so stripping the cam belt and bye bye engine. Any experience or knowledge of this out there?
