Loss of boost 850 1996

A couple of days ago, and quite suddenly, my gas mileage dropped by two or three MPG accompanied by a loss of all bu 2 psi of the boost pressure. Shortly after, the Check Engine light popped on. My suspicion is that I've developed a vacuum leak somewhere that is inhibiting the wastegate function. Has anyone experienced a similar problem? Any suggestions as to how to proceed?
