radio problem - '93 940 1993

I have these radio symptoms. Any help is appreciated.

1. Once in a while, radio fuse (#14 15Amp, I believe) blows.
It used to be when making a rather sharp right turn. I used to have the fuse box panel open, and actually yank it out when I park so I don't blow it. The sensitivity to turning varied.

2. The above symptom doesn't happen all the time. Right now, it's fine. No matter how slow/fast wide/sharp I turn, the fuse stays intact (it's been several weeks since last fuse change). In the winter, it used to happen at every right turn. My daily driving routine is identical day to day (except for weekend, of course).

3. In addition, my balance/fade setting doesn't quite work right. I get faint & staticky sound out of some speakers, with no respect to turning. I have the stock radio/speakers (940 base)

I suspect that some wires are loose and shorting when making turns.

Has anyone had the similar problem?

Should I look under the steering column for loose/bare wires? It doesn't seem likely that the wires would go near the front wheels.

Any help/suggestion would be appreciated.
