93 850 problems 850 1993

I recently purchased a 93 850 GLT from an auction and know nothing about them beyond what I have read here and in my Haynes Manual. I have two questions to run by you guys to see if anyone has any advice. #1 The Auto transmission slips badly in forward. I can barely get the car above 25mph. I know not to rev it too much for fear of further damage from heat. I can finesse it up fast enough to get it to change into second and it slips just the same. When I put it in Reverse it engages like normal and backs up just fine. This leads me to believe the fluid, while somewhat burnt is not the cause. Is there a slight chance it could it be a solenoid, or should I just give up and have it rebuilt. #2 I also had to charge the A\C with R134 and it cools great but the blower output seems weak. The variable speed works fine and when I move the switch to the high setting is still blows but I don’t think this will be adequate for the Houston summers here. This cant possibly be all this thing is designed to put out. My next experiment will be to hook the blower motor directly up to the battery and check the output. Your comments are greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!
