This appears to be a u.s. military study. Making no comments, but see for yourself. (Wish the ash numbers for mobil1 and 'new' amsoil were presented, though. makes comparison a little harder.) I was looking for something independent, and avoided any site that appeared related to any manufacturer's marketing efforts.

(Many of you will have already seen the original article by Ed Hacket, "More than you ever wanted to know about motor oil." This appears to be an update as 'new amsoil' is probably 2000.)
