S80 fuel gauge intermittent S80 2012

The fuel gauge on my 2012 S80 has become intermittent.

While driving around town, the gauge usually doesn't function.

However, the gauge begins working fine on highway trips of 1-2 hours or more.

The gauge also suddenly starts working if the car hits a big bump.

Perhaps I have a bad ground? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
