I have a Volvo factory radio/CD/cassette player in my 96 850. Of late, it's been doing a couple of things: the CDs "skip" when I go over a bump; and, just the last few days, CDs will occasionally stop playing, with either an "EE" code on the screen, or a blank screen, or will refuse to play. These same CDs will run fine at other times.

Radio seems to work fine (haven't checked the cassette player).

I take it this means the CD unit is failing.

There's a "CHGR" button next to the "CD" button - is this for a remote-mounted CD changer? If so, is the affordable way to get reliable CD playing back to put in a changer?

And, if "yes," can anyone recommend a single-CD changer that I could tuck somewhere around the dash? I'd prefer not to have to get out of the car and reach under the seat, or go in the trunk.
