So.... my friend's 2003 (I think) V70xc awd had its hard steel brake line cut just before the rubber hose on the rear passenger side. The e-brake cable was also cut. Obviously something malicious happened, but right now I'm wondering how to replace the line for her.
So, I traced the line, but can't really tell where it goes or where the junction block (if there is one) goes. There are 3 lines from the front ABS unit, which I assume means 1 for each front wheel and 1 to the rear where it's split into 2 other lines.
Where does the hardline run? Do I have to drop the fuel tank to replace it? Do these come pre-bent, or should I buy some of the soft steel hand-bendable lines from napa or something? It looks like it has an awful lot of bends to replicate by hand.
How about the e-brake cable? Do I need to replace it all the way to the brake handle, or does it just go across to the top of the axle like on a 700?
Cheers...
PS there are a couple other issues, but I'll post about those separately
