I know that there are several writeups on this topic, but I can not seem to find any on what I am experiencing with my newly acquired after purchasing my "New" V70R. I put new tires on the car after I got it and now I am hearing a "rubbing" metallic sound during hard acceleration. It's not present during normal driving or deceleration. At first I thought that maybe the tire shop pushed the muffler/pipe close to the Rear Propeller/Drive shaft and this was causing the sound during acceleration. I crawled underneath today and found one area of the driveshaft that looked like it might be contacting the rear seam of the muffler. I placed painters tape on the driveshaft and drove around accelerating to see if the tape wore off in this spot-it did NOT. I then checked all the brake backing plates of all of the wheels to ensure not rubbing was occurring. Still had the noise. No vibration or thunking is present, just this metallic/rubbing sound during hard acceleration. ANY IDEAS??? Car has 98,000 miles on it and in very good shape other than this annoyance. Planning to do all fluid changes in the near future. Thanks to any support in this issue....
