With 45,000 miles, my bulb replacement light comes on intermitantly, especially just after I start the car, even though all bulbs are operative. Conveniently, by the time I get to the dealer it's off again. I see from the previous owner's records (she bought the car) that she reported the exact same problem ("happens when car is started") at 33,000 miles. At the same appointment with the dealer, she reported that the insturment cluster lights go on and off (Volvo's answer: "all working ok now"). I also see from her records that at 28,000 miles, she reported to the dealer that the gear selector light and dash lights were inoperative at times and that the dash lights had to be turned up all the way just to be visible (Volvo's answer: "everything works ok now").
When I took it in, the dealer (different from the previous owner) told me that it is probably a faulty sensor and, since all bulbs are working fine, not to worry about it. Is he right? Are the above mentioned problems related? I'd prefer to get this thing fixed.
Thanks for the advice.
