After heavy rains lately, I stepped into a puddle of water on the driver-side floorboard. Fortunately, I can park under cover during the day! The search didn't turn up much related to leaks, though I'm sure I've seen other posts.
At this point I'm not sure of the origin, but likely suspects would be the sunroof drains or the seals around the wiper blade posts. Looks like a wet weekend, so I'll soon find out if I've been successful. Question is, what path does the sunroof drain take? Second question is how to fix the seal around the wiper blade drive posts. Original equipment seems to be a flimsy plastic molding that pushes a foam-rubber seal against the underside of the cowling, but in my case, that molding is disintegrated beyond repair. IPD tells me the only way to replace it is to buy a whole new cowling assembly for a lot of $$, and I suspect any pick/pull part will not be much better than what I've got.
The rear driver-side floorboard is damp, too, but no puddles. Not sure what the construction is under the carpet, but from the top it wouldn't appear that water would seep front to back under the seat, so that one is rather puzzling.
All ideas for repair are welcome!
