Does a 1996 850 have an "interference engine' (about timing belt...) 850 1996

I was reading an article about how some cars have a type of engine that can be completely destroyed by the timing belt snapping, and seeing as my 850 is past its 62,000 mi scheduled timing belt change by a few thousand miles and I don't have the money to get it done right now, I am wondering if it's got the type of engine that would just leave me stranded, or the type that would actually be ruined. If anyone can tell me I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

Also... if anyone has any idea how long I probably have until it breaks on me (I mean, if you've had one snap on you at 70K or something), let me know. I know nobody can accurately predict the future like that, and all situations are different, but if you have personally had that unfortunate experience or know someone who has, please share it with me so I can either relax a little or start hocking my possessions so I can get it replaced ASAP! :D
