engine humming/whining noice C70 1998

When I cold-start my 2.3 L. turbo equipped C70, there is a loud hum/whine coming from the engine that lasts less than a minute. This noise occurs in drive, park or neutral and speeds up when I increase the engine RPM. My car has 65,000 miles. Any suggestions?
