OEM parts pricing CDN vs US

Hi,
It looks like LP`s XC70 will need a new DIM. Just for comparison sake I thought I`d check out pricing on a DIM thru Waltrip Volvo(thanks to Klaus`s tip).
Pricing on DIM with US specs was $735; no shipping to Canada. Called my local dealer: CDN price is $1378.
What are the differences on the DIM with US specs? My guess would be miles vs kilometres. Anybody know if a DIM with US specs can be installed on a CDN vehicle?
The price discrepancy seems a lot like price fixing & price gouging on the part of Volvo Canada.
