During hot weather, my'94 turbo 850 emits an alcoholic odor(not gasoline). I burn
87 octane gas with 10% ethanol. My Volvo mechanic says Europe did not have ethanol
containing gas and did not remedy the problem until 2001. He also said changing
the charcoal cannister probably won't fix it and that not much can be done.
Has anyone else had this problem? The smell is really bad, especially when driving
in stop & go commuter traffic on a hot summer day. At colder temperatures(less than 80 F. or so,no problem. Any suggestions or comments would be helpful.
