Thanks for the recent advice. I bought my new baby, a 2005 V70R, and drove it home from Maryland Wednesday night. I thought I was driving an easy-chair home. I'm not sure what they did to the seats, but it's the most comfortable car seat I've ever sat in (and I thought my '98 S70 was comfy!)
I think I got a decent deal on it, I paid $18k. Prior owner bought the car new and had all the maintenance done on schedule by the dealer and gave me all the records.
He put new Continental Extreme Contact tires on in May, also had the turbo replaced in May when a mouse decided to take up residence in the air intake and chewed up the air filter. He did have the exhaust hanger issue that bill d cat mentioned and it was repaired in February. He described it as a "squealing pig under the car" when it happened.
Two issues I noticed. He was complaining of "rumbling" from the tires around 75mph, even after the new tires. He since had the tires road-force balanced and another alignment done and said this fixed the problem, but I noticed some rumbling on my way home. Has anyone experienced something like this? The car drives straight as an arrow, so I think the alignment is good.
The other issue is a scratched up side mirror. It looks like someone used sandpaper on it. He claims it just started happening while driving and has been getting worse. I'm thinking something might be loose inside??? In any case, anyone have a driver's side mirror for sale?
As far as the car itself goes, it's extremely clean inside and out. "Magic Blue Metallic" exterior with Nordkap inside. It's pretty much fully loaded with Climate package, Premium package, Navigation, 6-speed manual, rear parking assist, and built-in child booster seats.
I'm in love!!!
