Good idea or bad idea? 1998

My turbo weep hole mess is a mess! The problem is that it drips oil from the splash pan after I park, and I am tired of cleaning up the mess. When visiting my sister in-law with a beautiful cement driveway, she complained of a LARGE oil splotch. And now, I am afraid to go back there :)

Should I just drill out a 1-1.5 inch hole in the splash pan to let the oil drip while the car is in motion? Or will the air just blow up the hole and the oil still collect in the splash pan to drip down later? There is no oil on the garage floor since I took the splash pan off a week ago. There is evidence of oil on the bottom of the intercooler since I wiped it off earlier.

I cannot afford a new turbo which is the ultimate cure for leaking .5 quart every 3,000 miles. I also do not want to splat any more oil on someone else's driveway.
