Hi. My mechanic tells me that the meter codes on my wife's 97 Volvo GLT are saying that the gearbox solenoid (we have already replaced the PNP switch) is out. He checked with a Volvo master mechanic who told him that replacing solenoids in this model's transmission is not a good idea but this problem is usually a precursor for more catastrophic transmission problems and that the transmission in toto should be replaced. Does anyone agree with this. The car runs fine except when the engine light/flashing up-arrow comes on. Thanks.
