low oil level light 850 1993

I have a 93 850 GLT that has a recurring low oil light popping up occasionally. This happens after a short trip. Once the engine is re-started it pop up. When I check the oil it is a bit down since the engine is hot but when I let it sit for a while or check the oil the next day, it is full. Anybody experiencing the same? Is this a sensor going bad? Where can I find the sensor? Thanks.
