Inner Tie Rod S70 1998

Anyone know if there is a special tool required to replace the inner tie rod on an S70?

    If there were no changes from 850 (which I don't think there were) no special tools are needed.

      Inner Tie Rod S70 1998

      Tie rod ends are the same, what's different is the ball joint (on 850, and not on S70). On the S70, the steering gear is connected to the tie rods which have a ball joints at the ends. The inner ball joints are inside a rubber boot and fasten directly onto the steering rack. The outer ball joints are permanently greased and fixed onto the tie rods. With the 850, the ball joints are part of the A-arms which from '94 on has to be changed out in its entirety if there is a problem. With the S70, there is no special tool...a wrench?
