Suggestions for non-Volvo car parts (Ford Explorer)? 850 1995

Forgive the slightly off topic question, but I could use some advice from fellow DIY'ers. I've had only Volvos in my life: 1984 240 (300k miles), and two 1995 850's (210k & 190k). Now, enter an Explorer.

I've spent years refining my list of most trusted and best priced sources for Volvo parts but am 100% flying in the dark here.

Any good companies to suggest for Ford parts (e.g., brake pads, shocks, control arms). Thanks!

Suggestions for non-Volvo car parts (Ford Explorer)? 850 1995

Here's a good forum site for Fords.... http://p209.ezboard.com/bfordforums
There are others, too. Just plug "Ford forums" into Google, and put on your reading specs

If you're looking for high performance "stuff", just plug the name "Roush" into Google, and you'll find the site for Roush Performance... they're among the best, but, as with almost all performance suppliers, they ain't cheap.

For "normal" parts for Fords and Chevys, I've always used OEM parts when possible, although I have made friends over the years with local commercial parts suppliers who are friendly to "DIY"ers like us. For after-market components, their usefulness, reliability, and such, I strongly recommend that you use the forums just as you do "Brickboard".
Domestic parts are often surprisingly inexpensive, especially for those of us who have suffered the "sticker shock" of parts prices at Volvo dealers. The usual cast of characters such as Brembo, Eibach, Bilstein, K&N, etc. are also suppliers of parts for domestics. Have fun.
