Problem on Acceleration 850

I was quickly accelerating to overtake a tractor trailer...ie. gunning it.
I immediately felt a kind of airy pop. Then when I turned off and came to a red light it almost seemed like it would die...but didn't. I turned off the A/C, radio, blower. When I started again if I started to accelerate even a little I hear an A/C airy sound...that seems to turn on then goes off. It is skipping or hesitating a bit.

I stopped at a generic indy shop..."I don't work on Turbos"

Is it the turbo, a vacuum line, intake problem?
What do you guys think this could be? Is it serious? Costly? Any ideas?

I may take it to another local..generic shop closeby...but expect to hear the same thing...either they don't work on Volvos or turbos...

Thanks.

It was a hose that went to the Turbo that popped off.
Glad it was such a minor repair.

If a visual inspection of every inch of tubing, every fitting, and every elbow in the spaghetti that connects the turbo to the intercooler, (as well as from the intercooler to the valve body) does not reveal a tear or blow-out, you'll have to try to find the leak (that's what it sounds like) another way. With the hood opened, stand alongside the car while someone stands on the brakes and gently rolls into the throttle.... just enough to develop a bit of boost. At that point you should be able to follow your ears. Good luck.

Thanks guys,
I'll post tomorrow when I find out if it is in fact one of the hoses that is the cause.
