Been living with a strange knock in the driver's side front. We (Dealer and I) starting to get frustrated. Here's the scoop.

When going over sharp bumps particularly when turning right (loading the left side) there is sharp knocking sound from the left front side.
The dealer cannot locate it. We have managed to eliminate:
Sway bar links
Tie rod ends
Shock tower bushings
Left Front shock - replaced it with a new one - no change
Wheel bearings
Any and all suspension parts - it is tight.

We have started to pull off front bumper cover and poke around for loose components but no luck yet.

Any suggestions?

*Update*

Had it back to my dealer. Gave them some suggestions from Brickboard and also VVspy.
They checked those out but found that the coil spring rubs against it's bottom collar very slightly upon compression. Apparently the coil expands in diameter slightly causing it to contact a part of the collar mounting it to the bottom of the shock.
The fix was to bend a small portion of the collar out of the way. All is quiet now.

If you do a search on strange front end noises you will get at least 10 or so different causes. Here's #11!

Mine turned out to be a broken top shock mount. It made a rattling noise going over bumps and in turns. Pop the hood; on the side where your noise is coming from see if you can turn the two-inch diameter rubber cap on the top of the shock by hand. If you can, I had mine replaced at an Indy shop for 125USD including labor. Good Luck!

I have the same problem coming from passenger side front end. I have replaced both sway bar links and all of my control arm bushings but the "thud" is still present. Have not investigated the shocks yet. All of the other components seem tight however.

Try the rear insulators of the motor cradle / crossmember. They are like a cone rubber bush located behind the wheel against the chassis.

No suggestions, but I have the same issue. Hope someone has an answer for you.
