Throttle Position Sensor replacement question 850 1995

I posted a transmission shifting question this morning for my '95 850 auto trans sedan on this site and VolvoSpeed. It was suggested that the one thing remaining to replace is the TPS (throttle position sensor). I'm willing to try that, but my Haynes manual doesn't mention it except one brief line when removing the intake manifold and that only mentioned disonnecting the TPS electrical connector at the housing. Where exactly is the TPS and how do I replace it? I'm going to call for a price tomorrow from my dealer source.

Thank you in advance.

The TPS is located next to the throttle body. When you remove the black cover which covers the throttle body, idle motor and vaccum Tee. You just disconnect the connector to the sensor and then unscrew it from the throttle body. Install the new one, all set to go.

it is located in within the throttle body assembly. When you clean the flame trap you would see the TPS sensor - black square like thing screwed (2)to the TB. fairly easy to clean or replace. The usual problem is that the TPS contacts are just dirty w/c eventually sets of codes. Try cleaning the contacts w/good contact cleaners or even di-electric grease/contact cleaner or plain WD40 and make sure it is air dry before reconnecting terminals.
good luck
