Sputtering / Bad Idle / Brakes gone V70-XC70 1998

Driving home in my newly aquired 1998 Volvo V70XC which JUST returned from the dealer for extensive service and was running PERFECTLY, things went to HEXX.

Check Engine light came on.
Car started to idle roughly and erratically, dying at every stop sign.
Brakes lost all power assist.(Strange)
Car started slight backfiring.

Alternator is good and battery is good.
Disconnected battery and reconnected. - no help

I lost the engine codes.

Any great ideas?

Help..

Probably a vaccum leak in the brake servo or in the hose between the servo and the intake manifold. Check the hose, the servo is the round black can on the torpedo wall right in front of the brake pedal.
