96 850T Wagon transmission issue

Hi - I've got a 96 850 Turbo Wagon with 222,000 miles. On the drive home, the car only wanted to be in 3rd or 4th gear, even starting from a stop. When I pulled into the driveway, I could not get the car in reverse - the engine just revs a bit, but not like it is in neutral. In drive, transmission engages but weakly. If I put in neutral and kill the engine, the car will not roll backwards or forwards. This seems bad to me. Any ideas?

    As I sort of suspected, it is a full transmission rebuild. The fluid was shot, amoung other things. Oh well...
