THE AC ON MY 850 IS NOT WORKING. WHEN THE AC IS SWITCHED ON THE CLUTCH DOES NOT EVEN ENGAGE. CAN THIS BE BECAUSE OF A LOW CHARGE CONDITION? IF IT CAN BE CAN I RECHARGE IT MYSELF? THE ONLY "CHARGE PORT" THAT I SEE IS NEXT TO THE FIREWALL ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR, IT IS MARKED MAX.6Nm. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECEIATED. NOTE I BOUGHT THE CAR LAST FALL AND I JUST NOW AM TRYING THE AC. EVERYTHING ELSE WORKS ON THE CAR 133000 MILES EXCEPT THE CRUISE BUT I'LL SAVE THAT FOR ANOTHE FORUM.

i have a 96 850 so i am going off of my car my charge port for the low pressure side is on the lower passenger side frame rail directly below the power steering resevior your 93 may be the one you need to use if the fitting you are talking about is on the line with the low pressure switch then that is the one your charge hose kit will not fit the incorrect fitting you will need a socket or wrench to get that cap off hope it helps

I HAVE LOOKED AND LOOKED AND THE ONLY CHARGE POINT I CAN SEE IS AT THE FIRE WALL NEXT TO WHAT I THINK IS THE LOW PRESS. SWITCH. I CONSIDER MYSELF PRETTY MECHANICLY (?) INCLINED BUT I STILL CAN FIND IT.

If you haven't found out yet - on the 93 the charge connection is near the firewall. They moved it in 94 so that you can have the skin taken off your knuckles if you get to close to the belts.
