1998 V70 XC with 84,000 miles, which I have had since last August.
I am hunting for that elusive last MPG. I drive a 12 mile commute each way, about 50/50 city and highway. I am averaging just under 20 MPG.
I have put in new plugs, distributor cap and rotor. Cleaned the throttle body. Run Techron injector cleaner. Auto-RX full clean and rinse phases. Now using synthetic oil. Auto-RX and changed transmission fluid (Wow! Don't let anyone tell you don't have to change the transmission fluid). Keep tire pressure at 36 front, 41 rear. OBDII reader shows O2 sensors are OK (voltage swing from .055 to .970). I'm a light touch on the gas, which is always premium. I keep the transmission in the economy mode.
Am I missing anything? Perhaps I'm at the best MPG I can expect, but with gas at the price it is, every little bit helps. So does any suggestion. Thanks in advance.
