Engine oil cooler: hoses break down? 850 1994

While searching under the car preparing for coolant hose replacement I noticed a lot of oil on the two metal lines below the flexible rubber lines. Are these prone to leaking? These are the lines that lead from the front of the engine to the radiator. I imagine replacements are rather costly.

Comments welcome,

dick

Back when I didn't know any better, I brought my 850 to Borton complaining of the same problem. The top oil line was leaking and making a small mess. They replaced the line itself($120.44) and an O-ring($2.61) plus an hour of labor @ $110. It was probably just an O-ring failure! The oil came out between the metal end of the line and the radiator.

Thanks Klaus. Afraid this is dry on top and bottom and the ooze is at the hose-metal junction. Ordered new today. More digging into the bowels of the beast---
