Nobody needs to get too excited. This is actually concerning ETS cleaning not replacement. I am still shopping to replace mine soon.

The suit alleges that a "secret warranty" action was communicated to Volvo dealers about covering a throttle body/ETS cleaning with after-warranty assistance ...assumedly for those customers who complain loudly enough. From what I read, it may only appy to '99 and '00 models and possibly only in California. Maybe it's a start for the rest of us.

I found this while doing a google search for parts using 'volvo electronic throttle module'. The complaint brief is about a year old. Has anyone here joined this thing? From the posts here, maybe we all should. Opinions?

Good luck, but my understanding of the issue is that cleaning has limited success and eventually the ETS DOES fail...the only reason I bought a '98 with the non-electrical Throttle Sensor (well, it also doesn't require downloads to reset things or upgrade most thing). '99 is nice and a few other bugs have been worked out...just wish they had taken care of the ETS/ETM in this model up to the '01
