Tail pipe black soot V70-XC70

The inside of my tail pipe shows a lot of black soot at the exit and there is a lot of white fog when the engine is running until complete warm up. Does anyone have any idea of what this might indicate?
Thanks

White fog is water vapor, normal on startup especially in winter. Sooty tail pipe = a "rich" condition. Is your mpg down? SOme causes: failing O2 sensors, vacuum leaks, bad ECT coolant temp. sensor (engine thinks it's stone cold all the time), worn plugs, wires etc to name a few.

Waer vapor is fine. Water is the byproduct of good combustion and even better catalytic scrubbing of the leftover exhaust. Black soot will be found on any car no matter how good it runs. The only cars I have ever seen with a perfectly clean exhaust are those that run on alternative fuels such as natural gas or methanol.

You're fine.
