Who has delaminating or bubbling vinyl door panels? V70-XC70 1999

My wife's V70 has one door with the infamous delaminating. Volvo NA refuses to help with the cost of the replacement panels. Can any of you who have had the same problem respond with some information? I don't want to pry for your personal information, but could you write:

Volvo model and year
Which door or doors delaminated
When you first observed the problem
What state you are located in

Did anyone get support from Volvo AFTER your warrenty expired? If you want to email me, please write to moranga at canufly dot net. Thank you.

I got my panels from Sweedish Engineering, $264 plus the $150 core charge which is refunded when they get your old ones back. They only come in sets, so even if you only have one door failing, you have to get both front, or both rear at the same time. They are remanufactured, but they look fantastic, not like the awful insert fixes Volvo tried to stick S/V70 owners with originally. The P/N for the 1998 S/V 70 with the beige interior is 8601653

Volvo used I believe a water based adhesive for a couple of years but have since gone to a more durable type. You'll have to buy in sets of two. Front doors and rear doors. For me the dealer also required a core charge. Not difficult to replace but a couple of hundred I recall per set. All doors were affected but I've only replaced the front door panels to date.

Who has delaminating or bubbling vinyl door panels? V70-XC70 1998

Both of my rear door delaminated early on-- dealer voluntarily replaced the panels under warranty (I hadn't even noticed the problem myself!). Years later the front passenger door went bad. No help from Volvo on that one... warranty expired. I live in Ohio.

If that were the least of my problems with this car, I would consider purchasing another Volvo.

1998 Volvo V70

First noticed at 49K miles...now with 66K miles, all four passenger doors are delaminating.

What is the cheapest way to redo these doors?

No cheap way V70-XC70 1999

There is no cheap way, and that's exactly the problem. I think it is cheesy of Volvo NA to deny repairing these panels, considering that they proudly claim their cars were made of the best and most durable materials, etc., etc.

Driver's door delaminated. No other doors affected now.
First observed three years ago.
Located in Massachusetts.
Car was under VIP when first observed, but it wasn't covered.
Never got Volvo to support, after warranty expired.
Never bothered to fix it.

Hope this helps.

'98 V70 AWD.... all 4 doors panels delaminated more than 50% of their surface areas. Truthfully, it dosn't really bother me as long as they don't fall off or look distastful/hideous.
