Trunk lock question S40-V40 2001

How do I open my trunk from inside my car? Is there a button anywhere? My remote doesn't open it, so I always have to shut off the car and go outside and open it with my key.

    You can unlock the trunk using the unlok button on the drivers door control console. That will unlock everthing including the trunk.

    The trunk is unlocked when the car doors are unlocked. Push the black area around the trunk keyhole. The trunk should open. If it doesn't open, push the trunk button on the keyfob. Then push the black area to open the trunk.
    The trunk does not pop open like some other cars. You have to open it manually.

    Did you accidently turn the trunk lock key all the way counter-clockwise so that it faces up and down then remove the key?

    If you did, then the remote will NOT unlock the trunk.

    Put your key into the lock and turn it Counter-clockwise until the key is pointing left and right and remove the key.

    The remote should work now.
