S80 T6 oil leaks S80

I brought my 2002 S80 T6 to the dealer for a promotional oil change. I also told service that coolant had begun to leak. Dealer advised that there was a recall on software, and he replaced it. Then, after 2 separate repair sessions, I'm being told that the power steering clamps need to be replaced; that the coolant reservoir is defective and needs to be replaced; and that there are major oil leaks which require replacement of breather and evidence of leaks along the turbo lines. Dealer says the car could seize without the repair. I've maintained the car regularly (oil changes every 5k) and never noticed low oil; no signs of low pressure or leaks on instrument lights. Of course, when I brought the car in, it had 50,900 miles, and Volvo is disclaiming on the warranty. Needless to say, I'm unhappy that Volvo is not willing to stand behind what was their top of the line ($43k new) car which I bought new in 2002, just because the car is 900 miles over the 50k warranty. It's clear that the oil leaks started long before the car hit the 50k mark, but there was no instrumentation signal of any problem, or I would have had it in for repair prior to hitting the 50k. I haven't seen any recall info on this problem. I've bought lots of other new cars over the years - BMW, Acura, Nissan, VW, and I've never had to engine repair a 3-yr. old car. Anybody have any similar problem?

Thanks.

There is no such thing as a 'free' oil change! S80

NEVER, EVER, once my car has passed the warranty period (100k miles in my case - other '98 owners here spooked me into buying it!) will I bring my Volvo to the clean, tastefully decorater pastel-color coordinated, espresso-maker, internet access equipped service department of my Volvo dealer if I can POSSIBLY avoid it!!!

Like klaus sez, you MUST find a a tame indy Volvo shop if you want to own one of these puppies outside of the warranty without driving it straight to the poorhouse! (And with any S80 it's still a crapshoot!)

    Another 'cheap oil change' S80

I cringe when people tell me about their experiences after a promotional oil change. Don't they know that the dealer is looking for business? Your breather hoses don't need to be replaced, just cleaned. You don't need a new steering rack if it is just weeping. If there is antifreeze on the garage floor, look for the leak, don't just start replacing things. Now that you are out of warranty, the dealer no longer has to justify repairs to Volvo to get his costs back - he just has to bill you, which is a lot easier!
Learn to change your own oil, it is extremely easy, and save yourself a lot of bucks. Find the breather hoses that come from the manifold and go back into the air intake, take them off and clean them.
Don't let that dealer ever see you car again. Find a good independent Volvo mechanic that will help you, not just take your hard earned dollars.
